FRANK DAVID CHAMBERLAIN (b 1945)

David attended Christian Brothers College, Waterkloof House Preparatory School
and Hilton College. He worked part time for Chamberlains as a university student.
He joined the company full time in December 1968; he went from being a counter
salesman to sales representative and then a buyer. During crises times he managed
the roof truss division and the Glen branch.

David is passionate about education and conservation. He served on the Board of
Governors of St Mary’s DSG for 18 years, retiring as chairman. He served on the
Board of Hilton College, and presently serves on the Board of Waterkloof House
Preparatory School. David’s conservation interests focus on birds and their habitats.
He serves on the executive committee of BirdLife South Africa, and was the driving
force behind six major birding publications, sponsored by Chamberlains.

Interests: classical music, singing, birding, fly-fishing, fine wines and road running.


PHILIP NEWTON CHAMBERLAIN (b 1942)

Philip attended Christian Brothers College and Hilton College. While studying at
UNISA, he served articles at Craggs, Kossuth and Ochse (now Ernst & Young).
After joining Chamberlains, Philip worked in most areas of the business, before
heading up the administration and finance department. Following staff crises,
he briefly managed the roof truss division and the Randburg branch.

Interests: most sports, wildlife, birding, model trains, golf and travel.


GORDON HAY (b 1948)

Director (Non-Executive)

• BCom, LLB (UCT), higher diploma in tax law
• Appointed Director 1991

Gordon was educated at Pretoria Boys High School and the University of Cape Town
where he studied law. He recently retired as Chairman of leading Pretoria law firm,
MacRobert Inc, and now acts as a consultant to the firm, where he specialises in
commercial and tax law.

Interests: sport, photography, wildlife and road running.


MALCOLM JOHN BROWN (b 1940)

Malcolm matriculated at Glenwood High School, Durban, in 1955 and settled in
Pretoria. He served articles with Craggs, Kossuth and Ochse (now Ernst & Young)
and became a senior partner. Malcolm currently serves on audit committees for
medical schemes and public entities.

Interests: church, fly fishing, walking and travelling.


HERMANUS NICOLAAS BARNARD (b 1967)

Manie graduated from RAU (now the University of Johannesburg) in 1991 and 
qualified as a chartered accountant after serving articles with KPMG. He joined 
the financial department of Highveld Steel and Vanadium Corporation Ltd for
3 years.  He moved to Pretoria in 1998 and was appointed as financial manager
at Kudu Granite (Pty) Ltd, before joining Chamberlains in 2002.

Interests: birding, family and bonsai.


MARTIN PETRUS ALBERTUS COETZEE (b 1963)

Martin started with F.H. Chamberlain as a counter salesman at Waltloo in January
1987. He was transferred to the roof truss division where he qualified as a truss
designer, before moving to the Randburg truss division. He was appointed branch
manager of Randburg in 1998.

In 2007 he was appointed branch manager of Montana, after being involved in all
aspects of setting up the branch. He was involved in setting up the Silver Lakes
branch and appointed branch manager when it opened in 2012.

Interests: sport, deep sea fishing and running.


CATHERINE HELEN CHAMBERLAIN (b 1979)

Catherine graduated from UCT in 2001 and qualified as a chartered accountant
after serving articles with BDO Spencer Steward (Johannesburg) in 2007. After a
brief stint in London as a financial controller at Credit Suisse UK, she moved to
Australia, as a management consultant at Ineum Consulting’s Sydney branch
from 2008 to 2010. She joined the company in 2010 as a retail projects manager.

Interests: running, triathlons and travelling.


DENEYS THESEN REITZ (b 1965)

• Appointed Director April 2015

Deneys matriculated at SACS High School in Cape Town, and completed his
undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the Universities of Stellenbosch and
Cape Town. He is currently Head of Department of Radiology at Greys Hospital
and the Pietermaritzburg Metropolitan Complex. Public sector health care
management and post-graduate education is of particular importance to him.

Interests: family, music and history.


GARETH ANDREW PHILIP CHAMBERLAIN (b 1979)

Gareth attended school at Waterkloof House Preparatory School and
Hilton College.  He graduated from the University of Cape Town with
a Businesses Science Honours degree in Information Systems and
later completed an Executive MBA at GIBS with a focus on Family
Business and Strategy.

Interests: Wildlife, Hockey and Squash.


STEVE ROBINSON (b 1959)

• AVI Limited, Rödl & Partner (Pty) Ltd and Rödl Tax and Legal (Pty) Ltd.

Steve joined PA Becker & Company in 1981 as a trainee Chartered Accountant
and was admitted to the partnership in 1991. After the PA Becker merger with
KPMG in 1992, he became an audit partner in the Industrial, Automotive, and
Pharmaceutical business unit. Steve was the audit partner on several high-profile
clients and acted as the engagement quality review partner on a number of large
listed companies. Steve has 30 years of experience as an audit partner. Steve was
appointed to the Board on 30 November 2023
.

Interests: Cycling, Golf, Fly Fishing and Astronomy.
